The Heating section of the Homely app offers a range of tools to help you manage your heating system with ease. You can create personalised schedules to ensure your home is heated to your preferred comfort level at the times that suit you best. Additionally, the app provides controls to customise your heating preferences, allowing you to decide whether your property is currently being heated, whether it heats overnight, and whether it can exceed your set temperature. These features make it simple to maintain a comfortable and energy-efficient home.
To configure your heating schedule you will need to:
- Open the 'Heating' tab
- Select your day of the week
- Either:
- Click 'Edit' next to one of the existing set points
- Select 'Add a temperature'
- Enter the temperature you would like to have your home at and the times which you would like this temperature to start and end
- Click 'Confirm'
Beneath the heating schedule in the Homely app, you’ll find the Heating Controls drop-down section. This area contains several toggle options that let you manage whether heating is active in your property and how the heating system operates. The options available depend on the Homely mode you’re using. The toggles are as follows:
-
Heating schedule is active
This toggle determines whether your heat pump will heat your home. If this toggle is switched off, the heat pump will not activate, even if the property’s temperature drops below your set points. -
Cool night mode (Smart+ Feature)
Enabling this toggle prevents the system from heating your property overnight beyond the next morning’s set point, even if it would be cheaper to do so. This ensures a more comfortable sleeping temperature.
-
Temperature flexibility (Smart+ Feature)
This option allows your property to overheat during off-peak energy periods by a specified amount. Heating your property above the set temperature can provide additional warmth to carry it through more expensive energy periods.
By using these toggles, you can fine-tune your heating preferences to achieve the ideal balance between comfort and energy efficiency.
