# My heat pump has an E7 error, what should I do?
If you’re seeing the following error on your heat pump controller then this is a heat pump error that is not related to your Homely system.
**What should I do?**
You should **contact your installer or heat pump provider**. They may:
1. Check the sensor which is presenting an error
2. Update the controller settings if needed
**⚠️ Firmware Note – R290 Controllers**
If you have an **R290 controller** and your system was installed in 2025 or prior, the heat pump controller may have a **firmware issue** which displays the E7 error. We recommend contacting your heat pump provider or installer.
