# How to add a Hub to the Installer App
When installing a **Homely**, the first step is to wire it into the heat pump and plug it in. Once powered on, you must **add it as a hub in your Installer App**.
This step is **critical**—without adding the hub, you will not be able to:
- Commission the Homely onto the heat pump.
- Connect the hub to WiFi.
- Access hub data, installer relays, or additional commissioning settings.
**How to Add a Hub**
1. **Open** the Installer App.
2. **Click** the ‘Add Hub’ button.
3. **Follow** the guided process.
4. Once the hub has been added to your app, you can proceed to **commission the heat pump**. *(Note: This feature varies by brand—please refer to the manual for specific guidance.)*.
