Setting schedules for a dual-zone heating system
To set up schedules for each zone in your Homely app:
-
Open the Heating screen in the Homely app.

-
Tap the zone selector at the top to switch between your two zones.

-
Set a heating schedule for each zone as you normally would.
Each zone follows its own schedule, which is ideal if you use one area more than the other. For example, you might keep your living spaces warmer during the day and your bedrooms cooler until the evening.
Tips for setting dual-zone schedules
Here are some general guidelines to help you achieve the best balance of comfort and efficiency:
-
Match heating to how you use each space:
Keep living areas warm when you’re at home, and set bedrooms to heat up later in the day.
-
Avoid large temperature gaps:
Big differences between zones can make your heat pump work harder and reduce efficiency.
-
Use steady temperatures:
Homely and your heat pump work best with gradual changes rather than frequent on/off cycles.
-
Let Homely learn:
Over time, Homely will optimise your heating patterns automatically — so there’s no need to keep making manual adjustments.
Example schedule:
-
Zone 1 (Living area): 20 °C from 7 am – 9 am, 18 °C during the day, 20 °C from 5 pm – 10 pm.
-
Zone 2 (Bedrooms): 18 °C overnight, 20 °C from 7 am – 9 am and 8 pm – 10 pm.
Heating settings
Some settings, such as Disable Heating or Temperature Flexibility, are global. This means that if you change them, the change will apply to both zones. Keep this in mind if you only want to adjust behaviour in one part of your home.
Boosts
Boosts are zonal, so you can temporarily heat one zone without affecting the other. If you’d like to boost both zones, simply activate a boost in each zone separately.
